Cherry blossom action

Flower viewing (Hanami) of cherry blossoms (Sakura) in spring is one of the most important times in the social seasonal calendar in Japan with friends getting together for a fleeting glimpse of these beloved trees. There is something for everyone at a Hanami get together as if like me you have seen ’em all and are not particularly excited about it, you can still enjoy the company with plenty of drinks and bento box cuisine!
From a culinary perspective I’ve made various experiments with sushi, rice wine, Koji fermentation and on and on , it’s delicate flavor is a challenge to work with but the best results I’ve had so far have been with ice cream so that’s what I stick with and everyone seems to enjoy it. Kanpai!
